Canals 2,800 years old have been found in Jerusalem

They are located in the City of David Archaeological Park. It is believed to be the site of the first settlement in Jerusalem. The purpose of the channels carved into the rock is still unclear. Scientists assume that they were used to impregnate some kind of product.

The forensic examination showed that there were no traces of blood in the structures, which means that they were not used for slaughtering animals. But they were not used to transport water either. It is also curious that by now the researchers have found two such structures located 10 metres apart. They may have been part of one large installation.
