As experts say, due to the fact that Greenland glaciers have begun to melt more rapidly, fresh water is more strongly arriving in the ocean. This can provoke “erosion” of the Gulf Stream, due to which Europe currently has mild climatic conditions. In the middle of the century, according to one of the scenarios of the new model, there will be a violation of the system of currents, because of which in the Northern Hemisphere of the Earth will sharply cool down after about 60-70 years.
At the beginning of the last century, Thomas Griffith Taylor, who discovered the waterfall, hypothesised that it owed its strange colour to algae. But then science discovered that it was not algae, but iron salts oxidised in the atmosphere.
In a new study it was proved that the streams of the waterfall and indeed contains iron, but it has a very unexpected form, namely nanospheres, the size of which is one hundred times smaller than that of human red blood cells.

The cause for concern is not related to the shortage of salty seawater, which covers 70% of the planet’s surface. The problem concerns the fresh H2O we use for drinking, bathing and agriculture. The supply of usable freshwater is only 3% of the planet’s total water supply, and most of it is stored in ice and glaciers.

The agricultural industry uses nearly 70 per cent of the total freshwater supply. With projected global population growth, the demand for food and therefore water will increase in the next decades.

The researchers took this opportunity to study the unique process. Unfortunately, it turns out that flowering can spell disaster for both the bamboo population itself and for nature as a whole.
